PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A GRENADA PASSPORT

All Passport Applicants MUST:

  1. Complete every section of the Application Form where it applies:
  2. Submit two (2) recent (i.e. within six (6) months) passport-site photographs ensuring that all facial features are clearly visible, including forehead and ears. One of the Photographs MUST be countersigned by the same RECOMMENDER completing Section (12) of the application form. For nationals outside of Grenada, the recommender can be a PROFESSIONAL person who is not a Grenadian, i.e. Police Officer, Justice of the Peace. Solicitor, Bank Official, Professor, Minister of Religion, General Practitioner;
  3. Submit ALL PREVIOUS GRENADA PASSPORTS issued in the Applicant's name

Completed applications are usually processed within SEVEN (7) weeks from the date of receipt of ALL relevant documentation, though some applications may take longer, depending on the circumstances.

Where a BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED, submit ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

  • Applicants whose expired PASSPORTS ARE OF THE HANDWRITTEN VERSION (hardback or perforated) and WHO WERE BORN IN GRENADA must submit their Birth Certificate as part of the application package
  • Applicants whose expired PASSPORTS ARE OF TIIE HANDWRITTEN VERSION (hardback or perforated) and WHO WERE NOT BORN IN GRENADA must submit their Birth Certificate and the Birth Certificate of one of their parents born in Grenada as part of the application package
  • Applicants whose expired PASSPORTS ARE OF THE MACHINE-READABLE VERSION (issued fromMarch 2001) need NOT submit any supporting documentation other than photos and completed Application Form EXCEPT in situations where names or other details have changed (please contact the office for further guidance)
  • For Applications based on a LOST/DAMAGED PASSPORT:
    Applications in this category MAY TAKE UP TO SIX (6) MONTHS, OR LONGER, depending on the circumstance. The Application MUST be accompanied by an ORIGINAL Police Report, a Statutory Declaration -- witnessed by a solicitor who is a Commissioner of Oaths, a Lost/Damaged Passport Form, and the applicant's Original Birth Certificate.
  • Applicants whose PASSPORTS ARE DUE TO EXPIRE may apply for a new passport SIX (6) MONTHSOR BELOW the expiry date
  • For MARRIED OR DIVORCED Applicants, ORIGINAL MARRIAGE OR DIVORCE CERTIF1CATEmust accompany the application
  • For CHILDREN OF GRENADIAN PARENTAGE applying through descent, Original Birth Certificates of the Applicant and of the parent who is Grenadian are required
  • Where the APPLICANTˇ¦S NAME IS NOT FEATURED ON A GRENADA BIRTH CERTIFICATE:
    An ORIGINAL BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE or AFFIDAVIT must be attached and submitted to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Grenada for the name to be inserted before applying for a new Grenada Passport (kindly contact the office for more details)
  • Where THE APPLICANTˇ¦S NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED either through marriage or deed poll, ORIGINAL PROOF OF NAME CHANGE DOCUMENTATION must be submitted
